3. Краткий историко-этнографический очерк территории нынешней Брянской области

Итак, нелегальная деятельность политических славянских организаций на оккупированных территориях СССР, особенно на территориях пограничных, где их интересы пересекались — тема во многом еще не освященная исследователями. А между тем такая деятельность велась, и велась в том числе в нашем с вами городе Брянске.

Мы с вами знаем, о какой территории идет речь. Историю административной принадлежности города Брянска и прилегающих к нему территорий тоже знаем — о том, что это был город Киевской губернии, затем уездный город Орловской губернии. После 1917 года ненадолго — центр Брянской губернии, и затем как город областного подчинения вошел вначале в Западную область, потом в Орловскую область, и потом стал центром собственно Брянской области.

Немного другая судьба у наших с вами западных районов, которые входили в состав не Орловской, а Черниговской губернии. После 1917 года они вошли в состав Гомельской губернии РСФСР, а потом постепенно были присоединены в течение 1923–1926 года опять же в начале к Западной, а потом к Орловской области. С этого момента они разделили судьбу областного центра.

Такой же непростой судьбой, с причудливыми поворотами, отличается вопрос этнического состава этих территорий — в основном, конечно, это относится к западным районам нашей области. Перепись 1897 года у нас фиксирует тот факт, что жители Северщины говорили на смешанном языке (так называемый «суржик»), их записывали малороссами в очень редких случаях: там было зафиксировано всего 778 малороссов. В то же время белорусами переписчики зафиксировали 149 368 человек.

В 1926 году перепись дала иную картину. На той же территории была зафиксирована всего 21 тысяча белорусов, и при этом 131 тысяча украинцев.

А перепись 1939 года уже говорит о наличии на той же самой территории всего 33-х тысяч украинцев и 12 тысяч белорусов. И в процентном отношении к 1939 году этнографическая картина этой территории сложилась такая, какая она сохраняется и на сегодняшний день. Т.е., русских — порядка 95–97 %, и буквально по 0,5–1 % украинцев и белорусов.

Хотя мы с вами, конечно, знаем, что в лингвистическом плане пейзаж вокруг Брянска, особенно пейзаж западных районов, не является таким монохромным, как представляется из данных переписей. Мы с вами знаем, что если брать, допустим, дорогу Брянск—Гомель, то в тех районах, которые прилегают к Белоруссии, в сельской местности до сих пор говорят на суржике с преобладанием белорусских слов. А в тех районах, которые прилегают к Украине — на том же самом суржике, но с преобладанием украинских слов. По мере движения на восток, к городу Брянску, идет замещение белорусских и украинских слов русскими словами.

В лингвистическом плане этот пейзаж исследовался очень многими лингвистами — такими, как Будде, Карский, Расторгуев. И в результате научных дискуссий ими было установлено, что говоры западной Брянщины являются южно-великорусскими, развивавшимися в прошлом и развивающимися в настоящем на белорусской основе. Говору же людей, населяющих территорию вокруг Брянска, было дано такое заключение: ближе всего к белорусскому языку восходит говор северян — племени, когда-то населявшего этот край.

Вышеприведенные сведения просто помогут нам понять основания установок различных славянских организаций, которые действовали здесь, на территории Брянска. Этих организаций было несколько. Я расскажу и о белорусах, которые здесь действовали. Но, поскольку по статистике основную массу населения у нас составляют русские, остановимся сначала на Национально-Трудовом Союзе, ячейка которого действовала здесь, у нас в городе Брянске.

Мы с вами не будем вести речь о территориях, которые я сейчас перечислял, а сосредоточимся непосредственно на городе Брянске. Себастьян Штоппер нам предоставил карту города Брянска. Т. е., с теми названиями, которые были даны по распоряжению городской управы. Там получалось так, что где-то вернули исторические названия, а где-то присвоили новые названия. Например, Красная площадь, на которой мы с вами находимся, получила новое наименование и называлась площадь Глинки. Здесь все эти названия есть, очень интересно.
